Cinnamon rolls

As first I have to say I don’t like cinnamon. I LOVE spices and herbs but not that one! But from time to time I try something that I am usually avoiding. In is incredible how many times I was wrong :D

So this time I tried Cinnamon rolls. Here is the recipe:

2 spoons butter
2 spoons honey
1/5 L milk
20 g yeast
salt
1/2 cup sugar
2 and 1/2 cup flour (white and rye)
1 spoon Nescafe
1 lemon yeast

Heat honey, milk and butter till liquid in a small saucepan.

In a large mixing bowl combine all ‘dry’ ingredients. Add milk mixture, egg and water if needed. Beat well. When the dough has just pulled together turn it out onto a floured surface. Knead it until smoot about 5 minutes.

butter slice
2 spoons cinnamon powder
3 spoons sugar (large crystals)
5 spoons nuts, cropped

Roll out dough into a rectangle, 1 cm thin. Spread dough with melted butter. sprinkle with cinnamon, sugar and nuts. Roll up dough. Cut into 2 cm equal size rolls. Each of them twist couple times. Cover and let rise until doubled – that will take you about 30 minutes. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes or until is browned.
