Lemon & poppy seeds cake

About a year ago I received Hummingbird Bakery cookbook as a Birthday present. There is a ‘ lemon and poppy-seed cake’ recipe. As I hadn’t the ring mould I decided to use regular cake mould. While preparing the ‘filling’ I figure out that my guests won’t like it as is not creamy enough. Instead of sugar lemon glaze I decided for lemon frosting… My guests liked my ‘little invention’ what understandably made me very happy.

Week ago I found a wonderful blog. And there it was – that cake! Isn’t it interesting how people who never met before got the same ideas at the same time? I have no idea where that fabulous baker girl got idea for her cake, but doesn’t matter. We have something in common now – we share the same cake, like it or not ;).

Enjoy!
