Millet Porridge & Berries

As a huge fan of millet porridge just have to prepare it from time to time. With lots of fruits: berries, pears, plums or even some ‘exotic’ fruits.

These photos were taken months ago. Totally forgotten, but luckily found them the other day. It was winter by that time and I still remember how lovely breakfast it was.

The recipe is super easy. Especially if you have cast iron pot/pan – than you can first cook the millet in it, than mix all adds into it and finally bake it in the oven:

3 cups nut milk
pinch of salt
1 cup milletΒ
2 tbsp brown sugar
4 tbsp vanilla sugar
1 cup mixed berries

Cook millet in a salted milk till cooked/tender. Add sugar, vanilla sugar and egg. Spread berries all over and bake at 180 C (350 F) for about 40 minutes or till light brown. It is ok to add slice of unsalted butter or tbsp coconut flour.

Have a nice day!

  3. Loverly! I forget about millet until you post something so delicious as this. Must remember to get some and try it again. I tend to just substitute quinoa as a side dish, but I don’t think it would make so good a porridge as the millet.

    1. Thank you Judilyn! Quinoa is super great but for porridge I prefer millet. Wish you a very great day!

  4. I would love to make this Irena! I have never baked millet or porridge. I would love to serve it to my family for a weekend breakfast. Is it easy?

I made this today. First time I made millet or porridge. I am a fan! This was so tasty! I put fresh blueberries & raspberries on top. I also added another egg because I like eggy things. Thanks for sharing. I will be making this again!
