As a huge fan of millet porridge just have to prepare it from time to time. With lots of fruits: berries, pears, plums or even some ‘exotic’ fruits.
These photos were taken months ago. Totally forgotten, but luckily found them the other day. It was winter by that time and I still remember how lovely breakfast it was.
The recipe is super easy. Especially if you have cast iron pot/pan – than you can first cook the millet in it, than mix all adds into it and finally bake it in the oven:
3 cups nut milk
pinch of salt
1 cup milletΒ
2 tbsp brown sugar
4 tbsp vanilla sugar
1 cup mixed berries
Cook millet in a salted milk till cooked/tender. Add sugar, vanilla sugar and egg. Spread berries all over and bake at 180 C (350 F) for about 40 minutes or till light brown. It is ok to add slice of unsalted butter or tbsp coconut flour.
Have a nice day!
Your Millet porridge looks absolutely delicious! Would you be able to share your recipe? π
Thank you so much! And I am sorry not to write it before, just added it. Hope you’ll enjoy it!
Looks so so yummy! π Recipe?
Thank you very much! It was just added π
Brilliant! Cheers.
Loverly! I forget about millet until you post something so delicious as this. Must remember to get some and try it again. I tend to just substitute quinoa as a side dish, but I don’t think it would make so good a porridge as the millet.
Thank you Judilyn! Quinoa is super great but for porridge I prefer millet. Wish you a very great day!
I would love to make this Irena! I have never baked millet or porridge. I would love to serve it to my family for a weekend breakfast. Is it easy?
It is super easy – just added the recipe. Hope you’ll have a wonderful weekend with your family!!
Beautiful.
Thank you π
Haven’t even heard of millet. Will have to Google!
Jp, google knows everything π

That is brilliant, Irena!!! We always have millet on hand and I cook it up like a whole grain, but never even thought of porridge. I will now π The berries would go perfectly. And I love that it’s breakfast.
Thank you Liz, thats too kind! It is a very nice breakfast but you can have leftovers later π
That looks absolutely delicious.
Thank you!!

Yum, Irena! Never had this kind of porridge, but it looks delicious. Kind of reminds me a little of clafoutis, the way that it’s cooked along with the addition of all those glorious berries. Thanks so much for sharing, lovely!
Christina many thanks π Clafoutis is another great dish that is perfect as breakfast! Is that the same thing as baby dutch pancakes? Anyway, wish you a very nice weekend!
I’ve been adding a little millet to oat porridge recently. I must try using it alone and I like the idea of baking it after!
Hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I do! All the best!
Looks yum yum. Photo’s are so crisp, I can almost taste it.

I made this today. First time I made millet or porridge. I am a fan! This was so tasty! I put fresh blueberries & raspberries on top. I also added another egg because I like eggy things. Thanks for sharing. I will be making this again!
Susan I am so glad to read that you liked it! I love millet and porridge – it is such simple but tasty meal. I am sure it was great with more eggs – glad you experimenting too! Have a nice weekend! π
This looks great! I’d love to feature a link to this recipe and one of your awesome photos for an article about oatmeal alternatives on DailyBurn.com/life. Would this usage be OK? Feel free to email me with questions β kswanmorin@gmail.com. Thanks!
So glad with the recipe, but I wanted to know if I can mix about 3-6 spoon full of chocolate millo to millet porridge.
Glad you liked it π€ you can use any chocolate you like the most..
